"Chill Down My Spine"
When talking to people from different places, I'm always reminded of how many ways the desert can kill you. Those ways have become some of my favorite aspects of my home state, instilling in me grit and determination. A snake, a sting, a sand storm, an unbearable heat, or a lightning strike are my favorite reasons to look over my shoulder. A snake creeps up the spine of an unsuspecting woman, who herself fades into the natural background.
